Parks are a favorite place for dogs. It is a place that allows dogs to have a day packed with enjoyment – whether it is to exercise, take a short walk, or spend a complete day of chasing and playing.
An apparently fun-filled day, however, can sometimes turn into a terrifying one. Sugarfoot, thankfully, doesn’t appear to recall such a terrifying event.
A woman named Natalaya Hines and her dog named Sugarfoot went to the park one day to unwind and have some fun. An unexpected visitor came while the little black puppy was running and playing around.
Natalaya sat on the grass, keeping an eye on Sugarfoot from a safe distance. She’s overjoyed to see her puppy enjoying so much fun. But then an enormous hawk swooped down from the sky. It appeared to be attempting to snare the surprised dog with its talons extended.
Fortunately, this whole thing didn’t play out as what other people may have thought. The predator most likely changed its mind. Sugarfoot was not taken by the bird and it simply flew away.
It was a terrifying encounter. All Natalaya wanted was to capture a brief video of her puppy having such a wonderful time. However, a hawk attempted to swoop down and she caught it on camera.
Sugarfoot was unhurt and she didn’t seem to notice what had occurred. It was fortunate that she was occupied with playing and running around. She could have ended up afraid if she hadn’t done so.
They never expected to have such a terrifying experience with a huge hawk. It was so near to her dog that it could have just snatched the dog away. And she’d have no idea what to do if the bird attacked the dog.
The event serves as a timely warning for Natalaya to keep a close eye on Sugarfoot at all times. In fact, whether or not there are large birds around, every pet owner should do this.
