When a family in San Antonio, Texas learned that their dog, Max, was missing, they were horrified. They made every effort to locate the pup, but it appeared as though no one had seen him. They gave out pamphlets and even posted banners throughout the city.
As the days went, it appeared as though their pet would never return. The dog owners, particularly their two young daughters, were devastated by this. Both of the young girls had been crying themselves to sleep.
What they didn’t realize is that after several weeks, they’d be crying once more. However, this time, it would be out of joy.
Deputy Perez of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a little dog strolling about in a nearby area less than two months after Max went missing. The police responded to the call and proceeded to the area in order to secure the dog.
When Deputy Perez eventually caught sight of the stray, he immediately recognized him. He recognized the same dog from a flier displayed in their station. So he took the dog and confirmed that it was really the same dog. He immediately called the phone number listed on the flyer and notified the owners that he had located their pet.
The family was ecstatic. Deputy Perez even volunteered to take the dog to their house so they would be reunited.
When he arrived, the family was on their porch, eagerly awaiting the arrival of their beloved pet. They began running towards their pet as soon as Deputy Perez got Max out of the car. The two small girls led the way.
They swiftly embraced Max, and tears began to stream down one of the girls’ faces. They were overjoyed to have their dog back!
The deputy was so impressed by their reaction that he captured the moment on camera and the photos quickly became viral after they were shared online.
