Dogs have always disliked the notion of having a proper bath. They love water, mud, and puddles, but not when they’re given a proper shower.
We don’t know why, but we came to this conclusion based on the dog community’s general behavior. It’s the absence of fun in it.
Whether that’s the real reason or not, this German Shepherd named Orion killed it in the bathing game. Not only did he sit still, he actually lapped at the soapy foam that coated him.
We’re not going to guess why Orion liked his bath, but his behavior is a puzzle. How come he enjoyed bathing while most of his doggo brothers didn’t?
We don’t speak dog, but it’s safe to say that Orion appreciated the many good things that appealed to his senses. That’s the only reason we could actually think of.
After all, dogs love stuff that pleases their sense of smell, sight, and touch. Perhaps Orion liked the smell of soap, the sight of his master caring for him, and the massage-like body rubbing that came with it.
Maybe he felt like we did when we visited a spa for some rest and relaxation. We wouldn’t say no to pampering, even when it’s not free. How much more if it is?
Orion looked like he’s in one of his happy places, and his wide grin said so. We don’t know the soap brand used on him, but the German Shepherd found it so good that he couldn’t stop licking the foam.
We could almost hear him purring in delight. His hooman must have skilled hands because Orion was the very definition of a zen state.
Perhaps he wondered why his brothers in the dog community disliked bathing so much when it felt this good. Oh well, they’re missing out, aren’t they?
Hope you get to enjoy more blissful baths in the future, Orion!
