Luna, a stunning Cocker Spaniel mix, is so in love with her human brother, Yoonsung. She looks after him and keeps him out of trouble all the time. She’s his big sister, after all, so she does everything to make sure he grows up to be an obedient boy.
The young dog is an exceptional role model to her brother. She has a good temperament, is well-behaved, and stays extremely patient no matter how rowdy he gets during playtime. But when it comes to food, she acts quite the opposite.
Luna steals every bite from Yoonsung. Whether it’s a piece of fruit, some vegetables, or a delectable snack, she makes sure she eats all of it. She devours whatever he eats so he never gets to enjoy a meal.
She isn’t obese but Luna surely eats more than what she’s supposed to. She also sleeps a lot lately. She looks fine but her odd behavior suggests otherwise.
It was a huge surprise but the vet said Luna was depressed and eating and sleeping a lot was her way of coping. She also felt a little jealous of her human brother and assumed that her mom started to love her less way before he was born. Because apparently, she had to be away when her mom got pregnant with him.
For about a year, Luna stayed with another family member and only reunited with her mom once Yoonsung was born. She was so happy to meet him. But as he grew big and got more mobile, he needed more guidance from their mom, and sadly, it made the dog think that she was no longer loved.
Luna competed with Yoonsung by stealing his food. She devoured every snack or treat he had in his hand. But with proper and repetitive training, she stopped and learned to eat only after a hand signal.
Coming to understand why Luna acted the way she did, her mom promises to provide her with much affection as she deserves. That way, she will understand and feel that she’s as equally important and cherished as her brother Yoonsung.
