Border collies are very energetic and athletic dogs. That’s why it’s not surprising to see one participating in a sport. For example, there’s one border collie in South Korea who spends most of his time playing soccer with a number of people.
The border collie named Hello would always be seen loitering at a soccer field. He would wait for a soccer team to arrive for their daily practice, then joins them. After the players are done with their practice, Hello either goes home or remains at the soccer field.
The soccer players always indulge the dog in his desire to play. They don’t seem to find him a nuisance at all. Some of the players even admit that Hello is very good at the game.
At first glance, Hello seems like a stray. However, he’s actually a house dog owned by a businessman. A documentary team got the chance to interview the dog’s owner, getting an insight into Hello’s daily life.
According to Hello’s owner, the dog never seems to run out of energy. If Hello is given a soccer ball, he won’t stop playing with it until it is taken away. If offered to choose between food and a soccer ball, Hello would choose the ball most of the time.
On one occasion, Hello got an opportunity to display his exceptional skill in soccer. He showed other players how fake kicks could not fool him. He constantly intercepts passes made by players. Lastly, he also acted as a goalkeeper blocking players’ attempts at scoring.
The soccer coach overseeing the team gave Hello a name tag and a jersey. He decided that Hello would be a team mascot and honorary member. He deserved it, considering his display of skill and his dedication to bringing joy to the other players on the team.
