There is no reason why senior dogs can’t live out the last years of their lives feeling loved and well cared for.
Sadly, this doesn’t always happen when it comes to these elderly doggies.
There are several reasons why elderly dogs find themselves in need of a place to call home.
Sometimes, these pooches have owners, but circumstances such as their families being unable to care for their medical needs or simply can’t afford it lead to these dogs getting dropped off at local shelters.
Other times these senior dogs get rescued but don’t get lucky enough to find their forever homes.
Whatever the reason is for senior dogs to get displaced, there is a real need to provide a loving home for them for the time that they still have.
Luckily, there are superb individuals like Doreen Jakubcak who strive to give these doggies just that.
She opened up Marty’s Place in New Jersey, a senior dog sanctuary where pooches aged seven and up can live out their days well cared for.
This incredible place has all the amenities that dogs of any age could ever want!
Aside from having a pool, there is also a multipurpose room, as well as a walking trail that spans 25 acres.
This is a place where old pooches can have the best time exercising or simply enjoying the outdoors.
Another great thing about Marty’s Place is that senior dogs who are in need of medical care can be able to get the attention that they need here.
They don’t have to worry about their owners not being able to afford their medication or not be able to keep looking after their needs because there are trained individuals who can look after them there.
Even though these pooches live a great life here and are cared for, there is still no substitute for a loving family.
This is why all the dogs are still available for adoption for those families who are willing enough to welcome them.
