Skylar is a very energetic dog who enjoys running, playing, and having a good time. Her fur mom, Olivia, infused in her a love of the ocean and hiking. The two share a beautiful bond, and whenever they spend time together, it is always blissful.

However, one morning, a tragic accident occurred that no one could have expected. Skylar got hit by a car, and her spinal cord was damaged. As a result, she needed spinal surgery to recover quickly. The accident left both Olivia and Skylar in sorrow and despair, believing that Skylar only had a 50 percent chance of walking again.

Olivia felt devastated due to the incident, but she understood that Skylar’s recovery and ability to walk again would largely depend on her too. She eagerly awaited her dog’s healing day after day. Despite her sadness at times, Olivia never loses hope that Skylar will be able to walk again. Seeing Skylar in bed and no longer having fun is hard for her, but she knows Skylar may heal with the right amount of time, encouragement, and perseverance.

Skylar’s recovery took a long time, but her mother and her support group stood by her throughout the process. Every day, they guide and train Skylar to the best of their ability, and each day, Skylar progresses. To help her reclaim her capability to walk and not limit her independence as an energetic dog, they came up with the idea of providing her with a special wheelchair. It was awkward for Skylar at first, but she eventually got used to it, and it made Olivia very happy to see her dog walking again with the help of the device.

Six months after her surgery, Skylar started walking on her own again without any help. Her first steps were wobbly, but Skylar began to run and walk again with daily practice and determination. Now that it has been more than a year since the accident, Skylar can already do what she used to do. And, if there was any consolation from the incident, it made Skylar and Olivia’s bond even more robust than it used to be.
