Dog rescuers do not choose which dogs to rescue based on appearance or disability. They will rescue every dog they can help and treat them with great care and compassion. A role model of a good rescuer is a man named Takis, who recently rescued a three-legged dog.
In one of Takis’s recent rescue operations, he saved a malnourished dog tied to a tree somewhere in Greece. A concerned citizen had informed Takis about the dog’s whereabouts, and the rescuer wasted no time getting to the location. This is how Takis usually is, prompt and efficient.
Takis took the dog to a veterinarian before bringing it to his dog shelter. As expected, the dog was confused and cautious. He knew that, like all of his other rescued dogs, trust must be established first before the dog could feel at ease.
Takis made sure to provide proper food and physical affection to make sure the dog was comfortable. After that, he had to work on making the dog more open to socialization. Takis always does this by making the newly rescued dog socialize with other dogs.
The three-legged dog underwent a significant transformation while at Takis’s dog shelter. The rescuer removed all of the dog’s fleas, helped it gain weight, and instilled it with newfound confidence. The dog who didn’t want to socialize in the past became a dog who felt excited playing with other dogs.
The dog has also been observed to show improvement when it comes to mobility and strength. It could maneuver itself with ease, just like any dog with four legs. This is undoubtedly due to Takis’s consistent care.
This is not the only disabled dog that Takis had helped throughout the years. He is one of the most down-to-earth and dedicated animal rescuers in Greece. Anyone can find out more about the other dogs he has rescued by visiting the link below.
