When dog mom Candice talks about her two rescued Pit bulls, Desmond and Luna, she says that the two animals are really beautiful to watch.
Both dogs were afraid and completely shut down and that was the reality for them before they all met. When they finally met, Desmond and Luna had an instant connection. It’s as though they both know what they’ve been through and that they have a good understanding of each other.
Luna was rescued from a yard by Candice. When the dog was discovered, she was chained, but no one knows how long she had been there.
Candice leapt into action and unchained Luna when she realized she was about to be taken to a local shelter.
Candice discovered Luna when she was about 18 months old. She was emotionless and distrustful of others. Candice had no choice but to take things slowly with her.
The woman then learned about Desmond. It was right in the dead of winter, and she couldn’t bear the notion of a dog left out in the elements. Desmond was barely 10 months old and extremely frail when he was discovered.
Candice wasn’t sure how Luna would react the night she brought Desmond home. She wasn’t the sort to have fun. But, much to Candice’s amazement, the dogs immediately began playing. They cuddled up together when it came time for bed.
The woman has walked into a room multiple times now with Desmond and Luna staring at each other. To her, it looked like they’re having a discussion about how much they love each other.
Luna was well aware that Desmond required assistance. As a result, she took her role as the older sister very seriously. Desmond, on the other hand, follows Luna’s lead. And with her assistance, he finally started to be himself.
Desmond and Luna have progressed so much together. For Candice, it just looked like the two dogs were each other’s missing pieces.
